Animal companions

Don't forget that animal companions (and familiars) can wear those items that are no longer useful to you.

For instance, the PCs in my campaign have among them one familiar (Elven Cat) and one animal companion (Dire Wolf). Each wears Bracers of Armor +1 and Rings of Protection +1.

Unfortunately for me, since I have a snake, it doesn't seem possible for my animal companion to wear anything. No arms: no bracers.
No legs: no boots
No neck (no shoulders): no necklace
No fingers: no rings
And armor would just slide off it.

Unless someone else can think of a way for a snake to actually wear something, my companion will be in the buff (so to speak).

Armor = custom-made barding (there are tons of special materials there, one has to be useful)

Bracers = they can fit along the snake's body.

Amulet = could be wrapped around the head like a tiara of sorts.

Rings = Maybe one ring could fit on the tail.

There's an item in, iirc, Savage Species or Arms & Equipment Guide, called Arms of the Naga. Basically, it's a pair of arms that are strapped onto an armless creature. With those in, bracers and rings could be a possibility.

True. Of course, my character is a halfing, so its speed is the same as his companion. Granted the party is hindered a little, but not directly by the companion. I have acquired some boots of Striding and Springing (+10 ft to move) which helps me and not the snake. However a dire snake has 30ft movement, so it will fix that problem.

Longstrider with shared spell is your friend (translates to longwiggle for the snake?!?)
