For feats I ended up going with Rock Hurling because it had the strength score for it, Education, and Surrogate Spellcasting to make use of scrolls it would make without actually having hands.

Ankhus speaks Common, Goblin, Undercommon and Asherati. It is the assistant to Kherra, the Asherati Archivist and was created by her with the Awaken Sand spell. Ankhus has taken one level of Artificer. Ankhus is a professional Archeologist, Scribe and Relic Hunter.

Ankhus makes regular use of the following infusions on itself- Light, Repair Light Damage, Shield of Faith(EB) or Spell Storing Item(EB). It uses Identify on discovered magical items.

Ankhus regularly scribes scrolls of the following spells to use: Alarm, Amanuensis(SC), Charm Person, Comprehend Languages, Detect Magic, Dispel Ward(SC), Knock, Know Direction, Levitate, Greater Mage Hand(SC), Mending, Omen of Peril(SC), Repair Light Damage(SC), Speak with Animals and Spider Climb. It can be expected to be carrying one of each of these scrolls at any given time.

Ankhus tries to avoid combat whenever possible, interested more in its scholarly pursuits. It will lay flat and spread out, immitating a pile of inert sand, tucking it's bags of holding and the Black Sand behind any boulders it is carrying to conceal it's adventuring gear. If it must fight, it attempts to charm an opponent or hurl boulders. If the opponent cannot be pursuaded or driven away, Ankhus will engulf the opponent until it passes out from damage or suffocation. The opponent is then exposed to the Black Sand until it is converted into more of the substance for Ankhus to carry around. Ankhus will resort to more scrolls or infusions as circumstances require.

When not exploring, Ankhus enjoys reading and being in the company of fellow collegues.

-12lbs of Shapesand (Sandstorm p.102).
-Enough Black Sand to create two 5’ squares of magical darkness that extends 20’ up (Sandstorm p.20).
-Pearly White Ioun Stone.
-Dust of Appearance
-Type I Bag of Holding, Type II Bag of Holding.
-Various Scrolls (See above).
-Paper, Ink, Pen.
-A number of boulders between 40-50lbs, usually 8.
