Announcement: Alignment Information!

Slerotin

First Post
I've compiled alignment information from AD&D1, AD&D2, D&D3, Dragon magazines, and other game systems and placed it all on a website. Very detailed alignment descriptions are given along with references and a bibliography page. This information should be useful to players and DMs who want to stress the alignment aspects of roleplaying in their adventures. Also included is the good ole alignment test, a couple of articles on alignment tendencies and tracking, and a link to the most detailed "What D&D character am I?" quiz ever produced.

Wow, that's pretty exhaustive!

Also, I don't know if it is just a browser issue, but the left side of the nav bar is cut off when I view the page on firefox, the first letter or two in each item is off the screen.

Thanks, el-remmen

Hey, I really appreciate the feedback. I'll check it out and see what the issue is. I viewed the page in Firefox at 1024X768 when I was working on it. I had some problems keeping my menu "fixed" in IE6.0, so I used a little trick (maybe that's the problem). I'll check it out in other resolutions.

I am definitely putting a link to this in my campaign website. I don't know if I'm going to use much of this, but it's certainly got some helpful information.

I don't know about the alignment test, though; the questions in it assume a modern setting, so it won't be useful in a typical fantasy campaign without interpreting questions on the fly.

The 3.0 Hero Builder's Guidebook had a similar quiz, but the questions assumed a D&D setting. Think you could locate that and add it to the site?

You're Right, Lone Paladin

I changed the Hero Builder's Guide alignment quiz to assume a modern setting. I don't have the book available right now (it's in storage), but I'll check out some other sites that should have it and get the original information. There were only a few changes, so it should be easy for me to take out references to the President and $100 bills.

I am having the opposite problem in the latest IE. I am seeing the nav bar at the left in full but its cutting off the left portion of the main text.

I appreciated the class/race/alignment quiz. Pretty good. ... Too bad you'll have to revamp it with the next edition.

(I'm evidentally a 5th level chaotic good human wizard.)

Alignment Test Changed

The alignment test now features questions for fantasy characters. The "What D&D Character Am I?" retains the "modern" versions of the questions.

Yeah, I'd be interested to see someone update my quiz for 4th edition. I don't think I'm going to buy the books though. But who knows? Maybe I'll get 'em for Christmas or something.

I'll take a look at the style sheet when I can to see if I can fix the cut off text problem. I've tested the page in IE6.0 and Firefox2.0.0.8 at 1024X768. I appreciate the feedback. I'm pretty new at making webpages, so everyone's comments are helping. Thanks!

Text and Menu Problems Fixed (Possibly)

I took a look at the site in other resolutions. The menu bar was on top of the text for lower resolutions and off to the left for higher resolutions (based on 1024X768). The style sheet was the problem. The page should be normal now for resolutions of 1024X768 or greater. The menu bar on the left will be cut-off at the bottom for 800X600 until I can figure something else out.
