There have been a few hints that Eberron is coming up. But if you made me guess, I'd guess Fall for that or next Spring.

Next year IMO. They said they may work with Keith Baker this year, which means they would be writing the book for 2019.

Who knows, but they have hinted heavily at least at Eberron, and insinuated that their full settings plan would be revealed this year. I wouldn't be surprised if the DMs Guild got all of the settings this year.I am not saying it would have the impact. I am just saying I don't believe we get a new setting this year unless you count Sigil.
So far, signs are pointing away from Adventure material: but in a day we might have a better idea for sure.
Epic rules would be a horrible fail for 5e. High level parties can already trounce the most epic critters they've created. What are they going to make for threats, overdeities?
"You thought Ao was tough, wait until you meet his boss!"
I don't know if I’d say Mind Flayers are a planar threat. They're typically more of an Underdark threat. And just to throw another log on the 'planar' fire, DDB just released an interview about Tiamat with Mike Mearls.

Toward the end he talks for a bit about the mystery of why dragons don't rule the mortal realms. Then says, (paraphrasing) 'it's sort of like the mind flayers. What happened to them? We don't know. Yet.' He goes on to say that we might not like the answers.
Take it for what it's worth. But interesting.

True. But Spelljammer is a very different animal from the Planes. They're also all over the place in Spelljammer. In addition, according to Volo's the Nautaloid can plane shift, if I remember correctly.
I'd say they threaten more than just the Underdark
There's probably a great Gith/ Mind Flayer story planned. Or the potential for one. I don't think the three have ever had a big story focused on their conflict. That's a fair point. I think I was linking them mentally with the Githyanki and Githzerai, who have received attention lately as well. I tend to think it's likely that the Mind Flayer Story has planar connections.
But, yeah, that's a couple steps of inference past the existing information.
In the last two month, they've also had podcasts on dragons of the Sword Coast, Vecna, evil trees, holidays, lycanthrope, and the Weave.Thursday's new podcast speaks about the blood war

The keep talking about the planes. I think we can take for granted that Marathon is going to be something "Planes-related"
