Annoying Elves

Hi-

Playing in Joe K's Shackeled City campaign and we have this one guy play an elf Wizard, he plays the elf as a real snob and know it all. Plus he compares all non elves to monkeys. Is this annoying? Should we kill the elf and take his money? How are elves played in your games?

thanks

That's awesome!! It'd be great if I could get a player to do something like that. That's good personality, harmless conflict, and plenty of ways for a DM to have fun with that. Joe is lucky to have such a creative player in his group and I think you all should engage him in some good role playing.

Call him a vegetable, question his sexulaity, and make a V with you fingers, ask him about the cookies.....
there are lots of ways to annoy elves.

One of the players in our group plays all elves in that fashion. Whether they are wizards/druids/whatever. Personally, it makes me sick ;)

I guess, thinking back over the years, most people I have gamed with that played an elf did this in one way or another. That is probably why I hate elves with a passion and refuse to play one :D

1. Killing a fellow PC? Doesn't that depend on your alignment etc...? Would an OOC warning/discussion be a more reasonable/mature way of handling this?
2. No, I've never seen an elf played in this fashion in the games I've run. However, most of the guys are pretty good people.

I'm currently playing a female silver elf totem-sister(druid/rune user) and a human fighter(thinks of him self as a ladies man) and keeps on trying to bed me, but i wouldn't stoop so low as to mate with a lowly human. I'm an elf and deserve only the best, after all we are the superior race in the realms. We play 2nd edition, but i will get to run a 3rd edition game soon.

Elven superiority? Don't make me laugh. Two words for that loser:

Constitution penalty

Next time you get in a fight, let a monster or two get past you to smack around the poor little androgynous elf. He'll beg the monkeys for assistance. If he doesn't, well, trail rations have to come from somewhere.

As a rule, we don't play elves.

That's typical for elves, ever since the Lord of the Rings. Unfortunately D&D elves are nowhere near as powerful as LotR elves, and can't usually get away with acting like that (except for NPC elves, where the DM can make them as powerful as he likes).

Geoff.
