Another 5ft step question

Can someone take a "5ft step" to avoid AOO's in difficult terrian?

No. Difficult terrain usually drops you to half speed, and when at half speed you can't take a 5 ft step.

It's in the PHB glossary under "5-foot step" (pg. 304) and "half speed" (pg.309).
