Another cover critique...

The 'fort' is actually a photo of ancient Kasbah that my friend took on a layover in Morocco. On the cover I meant it to serve as representation of a walled city state. As for people on the battlement... at that distance, they'd be little more than little, black, flecks. So that's probably not practical. I might throw in a palm tree or something for scale, though. And possibly some lights in the windows. I'll take another look at it Friday.

*nod* Good stuff. Heh, yeah, I make a pretty good representative uninformed pleeb on this one - to my untrained eye it was just a fort. It got the walled city-state message across, but actual significance beyond that just cruised right over my head.

You've got a very valid point concerning the scale and any human-sized objects on the walls. They'd be undiscernable at that range and time of day. The embellishment/decoration point stands, though. The city seems kinda dead. Dry. Like a set piece compared to, say, the OS cover which says to me that spaceship is going somewhere. Somewhere fantastic to do some cool stuff. Cool space stuff.
