Another d100 adventuring ideas thread.

17. After a long trek through the mountains, the adventurers arrive in a deserted village. All houses are empty, nobody lives there, but evidences show that the houses were recently inhabited, then suddenly left. There is no corpse, no traces of fight, nothing except that all villagers left the village at the same time, no earlier than two or three weeks ago. A ranger would find tracks leading into the mountains, to a pass forever shrouded in mist. Along the way, a crow comes to them and declares (in Common) that "things may not be like they do appear..." (then disappear).

18. A small city, on the edges of a good empire, is having increasing difficulty with low level undead. The graveyards have all been emptied. Paladins who return after investigation return are near insane with hysteria. Clerics cannot not turn these undead, and almost daily evil necromancers are found dead, killed by the undead themselves. The leaders are desperate, as while the town itself is not being attacked (yet), the people are growing weary and terrified. Food and morale is running low, there is a possibility of revolt. Rumours aboud of an evil artifact which allow dark clerics to summon and create undead, but the truth, is much more dark than anyone can imagine. A group of recognized heroes must find the source of this evil before the town is overrun, for perhaps the whole empire, is next!

19. An exile from a neighboring evil kingdom is offering information about a powerful magical artifact in exchange for protection from the assassins who are persuing her.

20. Someone has been killing the animals of the forest. Animals from the size of a rabbit to a bear have been found shot by arrow and gutted but then left to rot.

21. Strange gases have been coming from the sewers and they have been having a strange affect, sometimes people will cry, sometimes laugh, others loose control of body functions.

22. an (as yet) inanimate army of clay golems (think the terracotta army at Xi'an, China) has been uncovered. Ancient texts allude that someone who finds 'the key' can command the army to awaken and have it do it's bidding. Several groups are now scrambling to uncover what and where this key is. To make it more urgent, the army has awakened and is marching on the capital of the once enemy of the creator, now a bustling metropolis. The only one who can stop this army is a descendant of the creater, and the key is needed as well...
