Another example of D&D in the mainstream

I'm the DM and my husband (who plays in my game) is taking me, does that count? We're going with another couple, who also happen to be players of mine.

I saw the Two Towers last weekend (extended version) in the theater here. That was cool. My wife didn't want to see it again, though she only saw the original version.

But I am waiting to see Return of the King until my wife can see it with me - so that will be this weekend. She wants to see it as much as I do.

Saw it with my wife last night, and I am her GM....

Same here, centaur! Isn't it great to have a gamer girlfriend? ;) A couple of weeks ago she came home from shopping all exited, because the extended dvd of Two Towers had finally arrived in the stores and of course she'd bought one! :D

I've been to the opening night of all 3 films with my girlfriend AND the rest of our D&D group... Life is good!

Unfortunately, my wife does not game, but she does like to see the same sorts of movies I do, including LOTR, and she loves Star Trek, so she is at least halfway there... in fact, we bought and watched, in order, every episode of ST:TNG on DVD, all seven seasons, and are now two seasons into DS9 - it is how we like to spend a relaxing evening at home. It is nice - endless entertainment, no commercials, whenever we want.

Now if I can just make it to Saturday...

Yeah, it's great until your girlfriend's bard snuffs it on the business end of the BBEG's Flamestrike and you end up sleeping on the couch. :(

Not that I'm bitter or anything ...

I'm planning to go see it with my DM instead of my wife... but then, my wife can't stomach a 3 1/2 hour movie, no matter WHAT the subject.
I saw the first one with Kriskrafts but she didn't care for it. I saw the second one with two of my players, and enjoyed it much more. I imagine I'll be seeing the third one with both of them as well.

I will see RotK with my gf, and when the extended version comes out she and i will have a LotR day and watch all the movies in sequence. Goodness, it is great having a gf into fantasy and gaming ... :)
