My darling giantesse and me are expecting our first child any day now, and this incredibly sad story moved me deeply. Brent and Davis both have my deepest sympathy.

One keeps wondering what a lame-ass world we live in where a mother dies after/because of child birth.

Unfortunately, that is a question that can never satisfactorily answered by us mortals. My wife nearly died with the birth of our son six years ago and, even though the doctors were watching carefully, almost died again when our daughter was born four years ago. Everyday I am thankful that it did not go as badly as it could have. This is the kind of story that sinks home to anyone who can relate to or has been through the experience. Daniel deserves all of the support (and baby supplies) he needs. It's truly a terrible tragedy.

Paladinwife & I are extremely thankful that all 4 of our children have been born healthy and with no serious problems for her. Our hearts really go out to the Pearsons. Hopefully, we can alleviate some of the financial burden for Brent. I can't imagine having to bring up these kids of ours alone.

I actually had this thing called a "job interview" yesterday! It's the first one I've had this whole time I've been laid off.

Paladin, what do you do for a living? I work for a government contractor (which will remain nameless for now) and they are hiring like crazy due to winning several large contracts. Primarily they are looking for IT folks but I was amazed when I started at the diversity in fields here. I'd be happy to put in a referral for a fellow gamer and Texan.
