Hello. Lurking Locathah here. Been playing D&D since 1991. Started with AD&D 1st Edition and haven't upgraded to any newer editions and I'm not going to. Got lots of 1E books and I enjoy playing and DMing. Halflings are my favorite race snd I play one every chance I get. OSRIC and LL help to keep the adventure vault full and I'm looking into Castles & Crusades.

I'm wondering how well C&C can handle a Middle-Earth type game.

Welcome, LL. There is nothing wrong with 1st Edition...anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to sell you something. I used to play a lot of 3.5 Edition, but nowadays I am more interested in the old Basic, Expert, and Companion rules.

No matter what edition you play, you will find plenty of people here who share your interest. I think this is the largest D&D fan site on the whole dadgum internet.
