D&D 1E Any 1e (or 2e) iconic dungeons that never made it to the top 30 list in dungeon magazine?

I have the original I bought way back in 81 or so... it's very far from mint, sadly....

I prefer them a little beaten up and written in, honestly. I love when I buy a used game book and find other people's notes tucked between pages or their marginalia. Then again, my penchant to write in my books has been known to both horrify and delight other gamers! :ROFLMAO:

I generally don't write in my books (a few of my oldest books have my name in the front, like you did when you were a kid), but yet I love coming across old marginalia when I buy used books. And when I find other people's character sheets and dungeon maps, that's just tops.

I thought this list was going to include DUNGEON mag adventures, many of which are as good if not better than the classic modules I also love.

The startling absence I noticed is any of the UK series of modules, I highly recommend UK4 When a Star Falls. . . and UK7 Dark Clouds Gather.
So having got all essential 1e, 2e modules I delved into dungeon magazine, and have bought issue 1 (ouch), 19, 24, 35, 36, 37, 42 and the rare #70 (there is only one left for sale on the internet now!)

Let me know if I am missing any "must haves" from the 1e, 2e era of dungeon

Interesting that the strong majority are set in Greyhawk, but WotC by far favors Forgotten Realms. Novels > modules, it seems.
Agree. I guess reflecting on the game’s history, which is what this thread does, draws us towards Greyhawk, which resonates with nostalgia in a positive way.
Personally, I find little that carries memories about FR, possibly because it has been done to death or maybe because “Elminster or Drizzt sort it anyway.”

I'm the opposite, I chose the FR as my campaign setting so FR is all my memories. However within FR was temple of elemental evil, tomb of horrors, etc.

My suggestions for issues of Dungeon to look for:

#5, #7, #15, #18 (A MUST - Tallow's Deep and Chadranther's Bane are as good or better than any module),, #36 (a great one you already have), #38, #40
