Any Big News New Games Around?

Any games that aren't a remake of an older game or system, making a splash out there right now?

It's interesting that in the film industry when the economy is low, Hollywood tends to fall back on remakes and sequels rather then new stuff... Is the same true with games?

Hmm, the last big news new rpg I've seen was Eclipse Phase. I'm pretty sure there's been more. Otherwise I'm pretty much out of the loop; it was only by accident (well, and hanging around on these boards all the time :P) that I heard of it.

Pelgrane Press has just released Skulduggery, a game I love. They're also releasing Night's Black Agents, a new setting for their Gumshoe rules in which you're a secret agent hunting vampires. Pelgrane Press Ltd

Steve Kenson's new rules-lite superhero game Icons has just been released. It looks amazing.

I'ma have to check this stuff out... I still also need to check out Eclipse Phase.

I got the PDF of Icons (Kenson's FATE-ish superhero game) the other day, and it's interesting. I'm going to have to dragoon some folks into trying it, to see how it plays. Rolling up a character was fun, though.

The Dresden Files RPG is the other upcoming release I'm really interested in.

Legends of Anglerre is new, a fantasy game that uses the same system as Starblazer Adventures.

Mouseguard, though I suppose that isn't all that new any more.

Doctor Who RPG, relatively recent.

Dresden Files is available as a pdf, I believe.

Another couple that are new, but are sequels or based on other games, are OpenQuest and Mongoose's Runequest II. We should be getting a new L5R game and there's talk of a new Iron Kingdoms RPG.

Paradigm Concepts has just announced they are going to release a Quick Launch version of their new system for Arcanis, called "Shattered Empires: Roleplaying in the World of Arcanis Quicklaunch", which will release at Origins this year. Seems they are having issues with their high level so decided instead of waiting for everything they would release the low level stuff now so they could start their living campaign. I believe it will be using the same system as Witch Hunter, which is a d10 system.

Dresden Files is the one that has attracted the majority of my attention. An IP that I love combined with a flexible and new (for me) system to learn is a win / win combination. Add some outstanding lay-out and production values along with its new city building mechanism and I'm even more excited.

I'm loving this game. Already played a session with my sons. Random character generation makes for some interesting characters. If you have stayed away from supers games before because they are usually complicated, give Icons a try. It is only out in preorders now, but the PDF will be available June 1 and the book will be out shortly thereafter.

Do you know anything about the China Mieville game that adamant is supposed to be releasing. I can find NO information on this game other than the license has been bought.
