Any body play T&T anymore, or is it dead?

I've been curious about the Fiery Dragon edition as well. Can anyone point to a review, or at least a list of changes?

I was going to write e review, but it was so negative, that I ended up deleting it. The short version is that I paid almost $30 for a 3"x5" spiral-bound book printed on 20-lb bond paper, and three saddle-stitched booklets (read "staple-bound books") of roughly the same dimensions and about a millimeter thick. I was not very happy.

I had hoped that the extra material would have made up for the extremely low-end production quality (I mean, man - I can get higher quality binding at Kinko's). It didn't. It was all stuff that has been freely availabele online for years now (the old T&T DOS-based PC game, PDF charcter sheets, etc). Only the PDFs of Fiery Dragon counters really stood out as being a real bonus.

The new rule book itself contained some good new materil, but due to space constraints, it also omitted a lot[/o] of material that was in previous editions of T&T. In the end, the new material, as good as it was, didn't make up for the large amount of missing old material.
The game read less like a standalone rule set than a book of options for use with previous editions of the game.

Finally, all of this is crammed (and I do mean crammed) into one of Fiery Dragon's counter tins. By teh end of writing my review (that was two days of handling the book), my box set contents looked several months old due to the light paper weight of the booklets, and the over-packed counter tin. I took it back to the store where I bought it two days earlier and traded it in for $5 of credit.

Honestly, if you're a fanatic T&T fan, you may want this, if only for the new rules (mostly new classes and other charcter gen rules). If you're a beginner, skip it and pick up the 5.5 Edition instead. If you already own the 5.5 Edition and want the 30th Anniversary tin just out of curisoity, don't pay full cover price for it.

[Note: Incidentally, I'm a pretty die-hard T&T fan, but the cheap production qualities and lack of actual material in the 30th Anniversary Tin really left me feeling ripped-off. I understand that there were some financial issues, but T&T deserved better. I wish they had waited to publish the game until they could afford to do it right.]
