I agree that the folks at Birthright.net did a good job on their conversion, but I hope that any 4e update will be completed sooner. By the time a conversion was complete, it had been years since it was started, and 3.5 had been announced, forcing them to revise everything. When that was finally completed my group had lost interest.
In my opinion, when they opened up their rules ideas to input from anyone on their message boards, they totally lost any chance of releasing a timely product.
For any 4e conversion, the writers need to learn to make decisions regarding rules and stand by them. At most, run it by the boards once for any glaring deficiencies, then implement it. Otherwise they will be in the same boat as the 3e conversion.
