Samarah features in the opening chapters of The Cerulean Storm. There's a fair bit of action there and some descriptions of the town as well. It's a small walled port (the wall is chin-high) with a tiny harbour (although large enough for a fleet of twenty silt schooners) and a cobblestone plaza with a well encircled by a wall of gorak bones. The harbour is reached through a narrow inlet and only has one quay. Its has fifty two huts that are made from stone, shaped like beehives with a roof of gorak hide. The inhabitants seem to farm goraks, do some hunting (with bone spears) and there is also mention of chadnuts, so they might grow those as well. In the book its headman is an elf-tarek halfbreed (!) called Riv with a wife called Korla. Riv says that most of the villagers are slaves who came there after fleeing the cities. What else? Oh yeah, heh, the silt in the harbour is shallow enough to only reach up to the Dragon's waist when he appears in it. There may be a few more details in the book, but those are the main ones that leaped out at a glance.
