Any love for Jakandor?

You can find all 3 books via online stores (NK comes to mind).

I would not gimp the magic culture the way they did though with limited core spells, etc.

Then what spells would you have them find in the ruins?

I love the setting. Too bad there's no conversion for 3.5. The barbarians are pretty... strange and boring but the whole idea and the necros are great. Can't remember one campaign in the last 10 years where I didn't include things from these books.

I have tons of non core spells. I had the four volume wizard spell compendium. I had huge netbooks of neat different spells. I had the 2e diablo book with powerful 2e spells. In 2e I also converted a lot of MERP, Ars Magica, Palladium, and GURPS spells.

In 3e I'd have a ton of options as well. Magic of Faerun, Spell Compendium, Complete Book of Eldritch Might, Relics and Rituals I & II, Spells and Spellcraft, Spells and Magic, that spellbook from the Brood, etc.

I'd prefer to start in base D&D magic and expand into new realms of power rather than try to restore things up to base D&D.
