Any rules for subdual Coo Day Graw(Coup de Grace)?

As far as Rules As Written go, I'd say that you automatically hit and score a critical hit, dealing some multiple of your normal non-lethal damage... with a Fort Save-or-Die.

The DC for the Fort Save would either be 10 (if you consider the "damage dealt" to be zero, since no hit points are actually subtracted from their total), or 10 + non-lethal damage dealt (since it's still 'damage').

The suggestions of Save-or-Unconscious make for a fine house rule, but I quite like the chance of accidentally causing a brain hemorrhage...

The pronounciation of French words is far more precise than that of English words. The only thing that don't seem to obey precise, stable rules is the "ch" in Greek-derived words, it can be either k or sh.

Coup de grâce is pronounced coo duh grass, to use rough English phonetics.

But I'd prefer for you to simply say "merciful blow".

Without checking the write up in detail - I'd say you don't suffer the -4 hit, but it was pointed out that the weapon had to be able to deal subdual damage.

Remember that in order to do a coup de grace the 'victim' must be helpless (basically) so they cannot defend themselves. The -4 rule was mostly designed for dealing subdual damage in melee combat which is not the situation that a coup de grace can be attempted (normally).
