I for one would like to see what EN World's "big names" have to say as well. ... Blackdirge (unknown)...

Well, I've been converting, creating, and editing 4E stuff for my own products and as a freelancer for a while now, and I like it. I say that with no reservation.

I sometimes miss the rigid design paramaters of 3.5, but in the end, there's more flexibility in the rules, which allows me to be creative in ways that I couldn't with the previous edition.

I'll make some more definite announcements once the GSL and what-comes-with-it is all released. [/Little Big Name] ;)

Have you guys got any plans for fourth edition modules?

We've talked about a lot of stuff, but until we see the terms under which we'd be publishing (the GSL) we're not going to make a final decision. We had hoped to final check that out this past Friday but it was pushed off again.

They can't do that because if they published Freeport 4ed, it could support only 4ed (right?) or does the license only say a line can't support both 4ed and the old game?

We hopefully see the details soon, but this seems to be the general idea.
Though we don't really know how "lines" are defined. Maybe "D&D 4E Freeport Line" could be established. I hardly believe that, but well, the GSL is supposed to be ready to see this week, isn't it?

Folks who want to do 4E Freeport can jump in right away because the Pirate's Guide to Freeport is a systemless setting book. You can use it with any fantasy RPG, 4E included. We'll see if the GSL allows a rules companion book similar to the others we've done (True20, d20, and Savage Worlds).

Say Chris, did you download the pdfs?

No. WotC sent me the actual books several weeks ago.
