Any word on the next DnD figures?

Their figures also showed that far more people bought the minis for RPG than for DDM, which flies right in the face of all the boldly confident assertions made in this forum about D&D minis consumption.

I don't know too many people who would argue against the idea that RPG has driven sales of DDM since the beginning. I wouln't.

Nobody's mentioned it yet, but aren't they planning to CCG-up D&D a bit by packing the heroes with unique power cards that you can't get anywhere else?

According to the Rouse:

Will the unique power cards in the Player’s Handbook Heroes packs be available anywhere else?

As I mentioned above, the power cards in the packs will match to the minis in the pack so the distribution is not random. These brand-new character class powers will be added to the D&D Compendium and D&D Character Builder databases on D&D Insider. Eventually, they may see inclusion in a D&D game book.

Funny, but I'm excited about this. You see, I have a bit of an addiction to completionism with the minis. I'll buy and buy and buy until I get the ones I want (whether by ebay or box by box). As such, I often end up spending quite a bit more to get what I want.

With the above, I'll likely spend less (I'll obviously get fewer minis, but I'm well over 1k as it is) and still get what I want. For example, I LOVE getting town guard and local militia type minis. I would be saddened to see them go (somehow I'd survive, but not without excessive medicating.)

The packaging doesn't look any different than the starter set from dungeons of dread?? which had a bubble/blister pack that the minis were inserted in. Not much more packaging than any other minis box (lotr, the later hero clix non-randoms, etc..).

The only thing I'm questioning is minion-style humanoids. I don't want to buy 5 packs of heroes to get enough elves for fightin'. I'm hoping there will be some "monster" humanoids

Though WotC won't be producing any more maps for skirmish, I wouldn't say they're gone forever ;)

Don't toy with me, man. I get more use out of those than any other prop. My dungeon tiles are meant for enhancing those awesome maps. I dont' know what I'd do if this were merely a joke.

All funny aside, I LOVED the maps WotC put out and would be ecstatic at any future endeavors in that area.

So they are really more previews than they are collectible.

That, and it's a little extra for the expected costs. It wouldn't cost much to throw down a new power in the box, but it definitely makes your price-for-pound a little sweeter. It's not 11 bucks for 3 minis, but 11 bucks for 3 minis and 3 new powers for the associated class/power types.

I hope the "same sculpt/repaint" issue doesn't kill the new line before it has a serious chance.

I can't tell from those pictures...any dragonborn in there?

It's not a joke. I just can't announce all the details yet. Fear not!
