I'm just far too lazy to invest that much time and energy into something with uncertain results. .

If you fish and/or drink beer, try combining the two. Even if you don't catch anything at least you get a good buzz. :)

I prefer to actually not catch anything. That way I don't have to put my beer down to take it off the line. :)

Nowadays, city boy that I am, I have no reason and no desire to, plus my wife objects, so it's all the more reason not to. I don't have moral or philosophical objections, but can't see myself doing it, because it's just not "me."

yep, that's where i stand on it. not my cup of tea. don't think i'd have the nerve to do it, unless i needed to for survival.

I wasn't really sure how to answer. I like shooting. I like meat. I'm just really not in to all the in-between steps, I guess.

I don't really, but I love eating the spoils of a hunt. Venison is far superior to beef, IMO.

I think if I ate more of it, I'd like venison better. For now, I'm happier with beef.

And I am pretty anti-Vegan/vegatarian. If I haven't had meat with my meal, and usually a lot of it, I feel like I haven't actually eaten anything.

My motto: If an animal didn't die, it's not a meal.

I'm not a fan of hunting myself but I don't get preachy when I talk to someone that does. Even I don't think it's really necessary, I have no problem with people that hunt and eat what they kill. We are at the top of the food chain after all. However, in my experience there is a large percentage of hunters who think it's their "higher-power" given right to own firearms and kill things with said firearms. I'm definitely not a fan of people who collect guns and go to shooting ranges.

But I'll stop there in the interest of keeping this thread open...

Used to hunt deer and squirrel but havent for a couple of years.
Father-in-law still gets deer so I have plenty in the freezer ;)

I don't and probably would not want to mainly because I doubt I could be trusted with the responsibility of owning and handling a firearm. I'm not against it, since I have no illusions about where my tasty, tasty meat comes from, as long as it's done responsibly and legally.

I've gone hunting exactly once in my life - dove hunting in Beeville, TX (oddly enough, either on or just outside a military base).

I'm a lousy shot with a shotgun. I couldn't hit anything to save my life. One of the guys I was hunting with was so disappointed at the group's collective inability to hit the broad side of a barn that he took three shots at a passing flock of ... starlings?

Didn't hit a single one.

I used to go fishing a lot more often than I do now, back when my Grampa was still alive. We'd go deep sea fishing on his boat almost every summer, and, let me tell you, nothing is better than grilled tuna steaks you caught yourself. Unless you're my sister, in which case all you catch is shark. :D

So, not much of a hunter, less of a fisherman than I used to be, and not terribly adept at either. :)

I used to hunt every year, but for the last few years I haven't. It's something I'd like to get back into, however.

Oh, and for the record, I like the taste of elk a lot more than deer. :D
