Anybody gotten "Priest of Celestial Spheres" yet?

I stumbled over it on RPG Now by accident, and from the description it sounds like it is trying to recapture the specialty priest of AD&D 2E fame, with spheres of influence determining the available spells and powers of a priest, which is something I'd love if it was done for 3E.

So, anybody gotten it yet and can write a little bit about it? :D

This looks quite interesting. It would be nice to know a little more though. I never truly understood why the Priest of a God of death and destruktion would be a master healer.

It's good. I adopted it instantly after buying it -- I literally bought it, printed it, skimmed through it, and tossed it to the cleric in my group, saying "here's the new cleric". (This is less cruel than it sounds -- I rewrote most of the other classes, but had only gotten a little ways through the cleric -- the player knew changes were coming).

Domains are gone. Spells are divided into spheres. Characters have major (full) access to 3 spheres, and minor (4th level and under) access to two spheres. Each sphere grants a different power. Instead of generic Turn Undead, clerics have "blessings" (same number as the old Turn Undead), and they can use the blessings to activate their sphere powers (one of which is Turn Undead).

So spell selection goes down slightly, but you gain 5 powers instead of Turn Undead and spontaneously healing.

I'll try to post a more thorough review later.
Cheers
Nell.

Yeah, written by Ari Marmell...isn't that Mouseferatu? :heh: Maybe he could elaborate a little on it? *casts Power Word Bambi Eyes*

*bamf!*

You have summoned, and I am here. :)

Anything you'd still like to know that Nellisir hasn't covered?

I have the PDF, but my time to read it vanished as soon as I downloaded it. :( It sounded like interesting stuff though.

Want to share a little of the design philosophy so the rest of us can appreciate what you were aiming for?
