Anybody looking for a home in Sunnyvale, CA?

Hey all,

This is, given ENWorld's worldwide presence, a bit of a long shot. Nevertheless...

I've just gotten a dream job offer -- I'm going to be working for Bioware as a writer.

That's the good news, and it's pretty darn good news on my end. The bad news is that I don't live in Canada at the moment, so I'm in the process of changing cell phone plans, bank accounts, medical insurance policies, and so forth. Big fun. Also, I have a lease that doesn't run out until July, so I'm stuck with either breaking it or finding somebody to sublease the place.

With that in mind, if anyone knows anyone looking for a place in the Bay Area, please feel free to forward them this:

"Sunnyvale - 3 bedroom house with lovely front/backyards - $1660/month. Conveniently located near hwys 101/237. Washer/dryer, large 2-car garage, fireplace, hardwood floors in living area, dishwasher. Yard maintenance included, Pets OK! Available in March; take over remaining 3 months of current lease, new lease in July. 408-744-1484."

(For the record -- to anyone not living in California, that seems like absurdly high rent. It's not, really, for a three-bedroom house in Sunnyvale. Seriously. This was a good deal when we got it.)

Thanks! If you can get me a sublease person, I'll work your character name into a some subplot in the first game Bioware lets me work on! :)

Hi Taky-

First, congrats on the job!

Second, I'll forward this to my brother. He's not looking for a place, but he lives in the bay area and might know someone. Do you know approx. how long of a drive it is to Berkeley?

Hey CL: First, thanks! I'm pretty jazzed. Second, it's probably a prohibitively long drive to Berkeley. I drive to Berkeley for monthly writer meetings, and it's about an hour in light traffic. At anything like a work-hour commute, it's more like an hour and a half or two hours.

On the other hand, for anyone working in Palo Alto, Mountain View, Cupertino, or San Jose, it's a bit less expensive and not that far away.

Crothian: Yeah, that one never gets old... :)
