Anyone ever encountered a UFO?

Wow! That sounds really impressive! Did it feel 'scary' at all?
Well, I was ten at the time, so I was scared. But the thing itself didn't really seem scary. I was with a friend walking home, and he said "Look up there.", so I did. after it left we ran home and told our parents what happned.

Rather than repost the whole shebang, I'll just link to my UFO story that kicked off the now-archived Encounters with the Supernatural thread:

Fun at Area 51

Wow!

Consider that added to my list of Areas to go on holiday. :)

Wonder if I saw a small selection of those toaster things then?

Know the UK used to test stuff near Aberystwyth... My grandfather played with rockets there in the late 40's. We wern't that far from there?

I don't believe in UFOs, but one time the planet Venus chased me across a field of corn, then picked me up and probed me.

Wait: That was the wrong story.

One time my parents were driving down a lonely country road. I was in the back seat, looking out the rear window. I spotted a weird cigar-shaped object following the car. It was glowing orange, and it followed our car for over ten minutes. Really freaky! But then all of a sudden it passed by overhead, and I could hear the roar of engines...and then the setting sun stopped shiny off the bottom of it and I spotted the wings and realized it was just a passenger jet.

Bummer. :\

Back in '89 or '90 myself and my whole platoon were just returning to our biv site after night patrol / navigation exercises and we all watched a very bright light zoom very fast accross the sky. It was making very radical directional changes at high speeds and the changes were of 90 degrees or more and then it just shot off over the horizon at an even faster velocity. Very strange.

I never would have believed it myself save I had twenty other witnesses...
