Anyone got Kenzerco's Kingdoms of Kalamar 3.5 D&D DM Screen yet? The 3.0 one was totally awesome! My DM uses it and he doesn't even play Kingdoms of Kalamar! My FLGS doesn't have it yet in Canada unfortunately.

I just got my comp copy last night, so I'll benefit you with the list of what's on the panels. :) Let me grab my copy, so I can type this in.....

Ok, the four outside panels are art, as you'd expect, two of them being a map of the KoK campaign setting (using the incredible KoK Atlas map). Then there's the two flip panels that convert the cover art from a static scene to a battle scene as the DM sets up the screen for viewing the combat tables.

Inside panels have been added to and moved around just a bit to make for even easier viewing than the 3.0 screen! The panels include:

Yellow/Experience (2 panels): Treasure, Experience and Level-Dependent Bonuses, Mundane Items, Mundane Objects Found, Encounter Challenge Numbers, Coinage and Exchange Value, Experience Point Awards

Red/Combat (6 panels): Weapons, Armor/Shields, Armor Class Modifiers, Weapon Damage Alteration by Size, Ranged Weapons and Ammunition, Two-Weapon Fighting Penalties, Attack Roll Modifiers, Damage From Falling Objects, Light Sources, Donning Armor, Listen Check DCs to Detect Invisible Creatures, Concealment, Cover, Turning Undead, Creature Size, Diseases, Poisons, Base Save and Base Attack Bonuses, Firing Patterns, Actions in Combat, Notes (blank), Combat Basics, The Drowning Rule, Fumble Table (Variant), Maneuverability, Concentration Checks, Divine Protection (Variant), Special Ability Types, Splash Weapons, Missing With a Thrown Weapon (Diagrams), DCs to Break or Burst Items, Size and AC of Objects, Object/Substance Hardness and Hit POints, Weapon/Shield Hardness and Hit Points, Items Affected by magical Attacks, Effects of Damaging Specific Areas (variant), Ability Modifiers and Bonus Spells, Morale Checks (Variant)

Brown/Adventure (6 panels): Skills, Random Weather, Limit on Magic Items Worn, Alchemical and Herbal Items, Doors, Walls, Climb/Tumble/Jump/Balance and Ride Skill Check DC Modifiers, Pantomime Skill Check DC Modifiers (KPG), Coinage of Tellene (KPG), Spot/Listen/Disguise Skill Check DC Modifiers, Tracking DC Modifiers, Untrained Appraise Skill Check (Variant), Spellcraft/Heal/Use Magic Device/Decipher Script Skill Check DC Modifiers, Escape Artist/Perform/Use Rope Skill Check DC Modifiers, Survival and Handle Animal Skill Check DC Modifiers, Sleight of Hand/Disable Device/Open Lock/Search/Sense Motive Skill check DC Modifiers, Bluff Skill Check DC Modifiers, Knowledge Skill Check DC Modifiers, Tellene Naming Conventions by Language (KPG), Languages, Community Size, Initial NPC Attitude and Influencing, Prices for Hireling Services, Carrying Loads, Carrying Capacity, Slaves, Chance of Wilderness ENcounter, Terrain and Overland Movement, Hampered Movement, Movement and Distance, Goods and Services, Mounts and Vehicles

Purple/Tellene (4 panels - underneath flip panels, so they're out of the way): Tellene Deities, Merchant's Tongue Day Names, Merchant's Tongue Month Names, Major Constellations of Tellene, Celestial Bodies of Tellene, Commonly Worshipped Deities, Knowledge (religion) Circumstance Bonuses, Channeled Abilities, Random Inn and Ship Names, Country Quick Reference, Tellene Nomenclature

Okay, I don't THINK I missed anything. :)

Hey, it looks like the web tour for the 3.0 shield is still up!

The new 3.5 version had many panels moved around for better ease of use, and one of the art panels got replaced with tables, and all the art/maps are on the front of the screen now, and so on, as I mentioned above.

Still, this'll give you a basic idea of how it functions.

YES!!! Pizza matrix!!!!!!111one!

So if I don't play in Kalamar, what percentage of the screen is useful to me? It looks like everything but the purple panels, and of course the map on the outside art. Is that about right?

Pretty much, although my non-Kalamar DM regularly uses random inn and ship names from the purple panels. Most of it is very useful. And he liked the (optional) critical fumble table so much he integrated it into the game.

That sounds just right to me! :)

I use the 3.0 KOK screen in my non-KoK screen and it works great. Not even all of the purple area is KoK exclusive -- some is stuff like random tavern and ship names.

'course, I currently don't see the reason for upgrading, as the main table I need to use, which was foolishly excised in 3.5, I still use. (The cover/concealment table.)

Well, I believe we were sold out of the 3.0 version, so upgrading the new printing to match the changed info in the 3.5 PHB and DMG made sense.

And no worries, Psion - cover and concealment is still there. See the "red" panels above. :)
