Anyone hear anything about the upcoming Expanded Psionics Handbook?

First Post
I have the original Psionics Handbook and it seems interesting though my DM never allowed it so i never got a practical hands on use of a Psionic. With this new Handbook i was curious about what people so far have to say about it, or about the original Psionics Handbook.

Thanks :)

If you can get your hands on the current Dragon Magazine, there's a preview of some of the material. Shows some new feats, a new mechanic for activating certain psionic-like feats, stuff like that. It's also supposed to take care of some of the "issues" people have had with psionics (like needing to rely on so many high stats to have a variety of powers, etc.).

I can't wait for it to hit the stores. IMC psionics are kind of like an underground form of magic while wizardly magic is taught only to the aristocracy. In order to be taught magic a prospective student better come from a family with lots of money or prestige. Needless to say, psionics threatens the power of the Wizard guilds because ANYONE can learn it. The Wizards don't care about Sorcerers because you must have a inborn talent for it and they are few and far in between. Psionic items are sold in back alleys and psionic characters must always look out for the law which is typically controlled by the guilds. The guilds have launched a propaganda crusade against Psions which most of the commoners have bought into so they never know who to trust because anyone might rat them out.

I like your reasoning :)

Thanks, too bad WOTC didn't when they had their campaign setting contest. :(

I had the individual Wizard guilds divided up by specialty, each thinking their own form of magic superior to the rest. They fought each other like in the old Saturday Morning Kung-Fu Theater movies. The only thing they agreed upon was the danger of psionics to their station.
