Anyone here ever bought a refrigerator?

Most Efficient Fridge is Freezer at the Bottom, but that's also the least convenient one.

Least Efficient is a side by side, but they've gotten better, and a good side by side is better than a bad top freezer.

I have an Amana I got as a wedding present, and it's great. It has air jets for the coolers to quick cool some places in the fridge, keeps everything so well we've had letuce last us 4 months, and the filter keeps the water nice.

Guys, thank you so much for all the advice. Did not know about the removable doors!

I'd love to get the water filter and ice-dispenser, but I don't have a water connection behind my current fridge. I have no idea how you go about getting into that main water line (I'm in a condo that was converted from apartments). Someone told me it's not a big deal. You guys ever done it?

So, a nice featureless $500 cheapo sounds good to me. Best Buy offers free shipping.
Why not just run it from the kitchen faucet's cold water line? Or is the fridge not in the kitchen?

How good is the local water? If you prefer bottled, then skip the icemaker.

My town's water is horrid, any cubes made from it have a nasty chalky saltly powder on them.
