Anyone in Alberta interested in an EN World Game Day?

While I'd certainly be interested, there is a quandry:

Calgary would be too far a trip for me personally, Red Deer is.. Well, lets just say its pretty desolate gamestore-wise that I know of, unless a convention room was rented out or something.

Edmonton would be Ideal, but I utterly abhor the game stores here. (Yes, While I'm a native Edmontonian, I agree that Sentry Box is *the* pinnacle games store in this province). We have WARP 1, which is terrible. I've refused to set foot in there after they started charging you if you wanted to open and preview any of their game books, and the location is TINY now.. Absolutely uselessly tiny. WARP 2 isnt' exactly huge. The area would be terribly limited. WARP 3 I've personally never heard of, nor have I seen Whyte Knight.

Mission Fun and Games would be a good place, but again might be too small depending on the amount of people (Its in St. Albert I think.. I can't quite remember).

Its unfortunate that Adventurer supply isn't around anymore, because they would try their best to accomodate groups. While their store wasn't huge, they could move the central shelving to make room for a group, and often had game tournaments there in the past.

Ahh Adventurer's Supply, those were the days (yes I am a former Edmontonian). Let me know if you guys do end up setting up something at Sentry Box in Calgary - maybe I'll bring by some Dark Legacies posters or such.

Red Deer Person here...

For Gaming stores, there is only one and has the nickname of Stinky's Store, the other gaming store closed down about a year ago (the owner is a good friend of mine) so the only place that would be good for a Game Day would be the College.

As to Calgary or Edmonton, once I found Sentry Box I have never gone back to Warp... :p

My vote would be Calgary. It's been a while since I was last at Sentry Box, but don't they have some gaming rooms???

While Sentry Box is absolutely huge, their seperate gaming room is not. If we held this during business hours, there would be plenty of room in the open gaming area, though, I suppose.

The Most Amazing Thing

Even I have been to The Sentry Box, many years ago, and I am from Ontario, hehehe...

For the first time when that store was mentioned, the most amazing thing occured to me:

When we went out west, we visited my great aunt in the Okanagan Valley. Anyway, one of my second cousins came over to my aunts house, and it turned out he was into D&D as well, so he directed us to go look at The Sentry Box, which was really cool. So today, when The Sentry Box was mentioned, suddenly it occured to me that my cousin could of been a poster and a EN World member all these years, and I never would of known!

If this story sounds familiar to you... hehehe...

I am in for an Alberta Game day! And I know Cheiromancer and several other who for sure could be convinced to go!
We all live in Edmonton and I'm sure could arrange car pools if necessary.

Once everyone decides the when and where let me know!
