Anyone know anything about "Prismal"?

Glancing through the Wizard's Spell Compendium and Encyclopedia Magica, the name Prismal keeps popping up here and there. I suspect he's someone made up for those volumes, as the items with his name on them in Encyclopedia Magica seem to be universally new items. However, I wanted to know if anyone knew anything about this mysterious mage, in any edition of the game.

And yes, I'm familiar with his Spellfire card, "Prismal the Outrageous".

There was an index of all magic items published for second edition. It only had the names, prices, and which book it was published in. The back story of these books was that there is a store call the Chemcheax if I remember correctly. Prismal was the owner I believe.

Hmm, no search is finding a store by that name...the description for the product you're referencing sounds a lot like Encyclopedia Magica though.

The actual title (which I somehow forgot to mention) of the index book is Magic Encyclopedia. Not to be confused with Encyclopedia Magica which had full details.

Woot! Thanks Sledge! I asked a friend from college who happened to have that product (I probably should have asked him in the first place), and after checking it, he was able to confirm Prismal's stats are in volume 1 (The Magic Encyclopedia is apparently a two-volume set).

In more than 20 years in this hobby, The Magic Encyclopedia is the least useful book or supplement I have ever bought. Period. And I'm including Synnibar in this consideration.

Talk about buyer's remorse; I STILL want to find whoever was reponsible for that product at TSR, kick them in the junk, and take back my $15.
