I would check out dndadventure. they have all sorts of items and adventures to look at.

Gorgoldand's Gauntlet is a good one with a mix of encounters. Looks available, with a lot of others, at dndadventure -- or google it.

Not 3e, but I have no doubt you could wing it, but a whole bunch of the 1e/2e adventures are available as cheap pdfs.

the Whole DL series is super kid friendly too, but I don't think they've reprinted them

The Bifyrd and Feron Adventures (by Brian McNeilly) is a nifty little set of adventures. Its written for the HarnWorld game which does mean doing some conversion. But its fairly generic, so the conversion is not too hard. I ran it using Iron Gauntlets by Precis Intermedia Games.
The adventure provides a details of the local area and characters and a series of 4 adventures. Its a little dark, in the way that the old fairy tales are dark. But its not a gory adventure. On of the characters in my game was a teenaged boy. I think it would work well with young children.
You can find the adventure and other material here.
There are also a couple of story hours written by people introducing their children to D&D. You might find them interesting reading as well.
