i grew up with the dark knight. batman is an integral part of my childhood and subsequent adulthood.

i have just come back from a seven year hiatus from comic books. mainly what drew me back was jim lee drawing batman. jim lee is one of the greatest artists comic books have ever had. he is my favorite comic artist. when i found out he was going to give life to my dark knight i was delighted. the art has lived up to and beyond my expectations.

and the story! wow. the storyline has been great!

who else is reading it? what are your thoughts on it?

SPOILER AHEAD!!!!!

who would have thought that jason todd would be brought from the 'dead?' was he dead? is it a trick brought on by scarecrow's numerous poison gases?

i would love to hear some thoughts from other batfans out there.

I avoided reading your spoiler section, cause I haven't read all of the new Jim Lee issues yet. I've read the first four, and I'm like you. I just love his art. If every book was drawn by him, I couldn't complain. I'm glad that him and Loeb will be sticking on Batman for a while longer.

It's kinda hard for me to read comics regularly now since my local shop shut down... :/ Mostly I'm reduced to ordering TPBs online unless I want to do some traveling. Guess I'm lazy (or tired of spending a fortune on gas!)

I'm not in awe of HUSH.

It's not that I think it's terrible or anything, after all, I *AM* reading
it, but it's not awesome in stretch of my imagination. 'tis allright.

Loeb isn't great at doing mysteries. Athmosphere and characterzation
is his thing, but his mysteries are too Agatha Christie, just without the
creativity. A good mystery has all the puzzle pieces scattered around
the story, it all coming together in the end. But Loeb just drags us
through the plot until *TADAH!* it's suddenly revealed who the killer
was! All the clues don't come together at all, in fact, the clues were
specifically placed to lead us away from discovering the big revelation.

Usually his revelations are rather lame too. Either too obvious or
completely out of the blue. But Hush is allright. Detective Comics
is currently much, much better though.

SPOILER (not really)

Oh and the Jason Todd thing has been explained in the newest issue.

SPOILER AHEAD

viking, after rereading the entire hush saga i saw a lot of hints to jason todd's entrance into the storyline. but still it has made for a great storyline. a story of this level, complete with so many great batfriends and batfoes and drawn by the skilled hand of jim lee is quite a treat. it reminds me of the glory days of the x-men with jim at the helm.

Our newstand starting stocking Batman books just before the Hush storyline started. However, three weeks into the storyline, they dropped their comic rack from the store. I haven't read a comic since then.

You know having your browser set to use custom colors can be a pain some times. Oh well, that's what I get for reading a thread like this when I'm not caught up.

Oh and I thought it was
Harvey Dent
.

Sorry. Although there is another twist. It's a fairly obvious twist,
but a twist none-the-less.

I considered that as well, seeing Loeb's fascination with Two-Face
(ala Long Halloween/Dark Victory) but thought he'd probably stay
away from him this time.

No need for that, it's my fault.

Hmm, haven't read DV yet, not that it would have made a difference in this respect. Anyway my reasoning was based on the character earlier on who had his faced wrapped up.

I'm surprised that post went through, the boards stopped loading for me after I click submit.
