Anyone seeing Hellboy today?

Uhh... around here you simply phone the cinema, get your reserved number and go pick up the tickets with seat number (of course for very popular movies you have to get that call in early to get decent seats) half an hour before the movie starts. No additional fees or anything.

Bye

No, not just go earlier. Go earlier and stand in line (Hm, Boston forecast tonight is temps in the 30's, possible showers. Yeah, that sounds like fun!), for a show that might get sold out before I get to the window (or I could buy online, and pay the exhorbitant movie price plus a surcharge. That sounds like fun!). If I do manage to get tickets, I have to put up with it being Friday, and opening night - which means a crowd that is more excited, and has a higher portion of inebriated people, both of which yield the audience members more prone to talking and other rudeness during the film (Which sounds like so much fun!).
All this just to make sure I can take part in a discussion or two about the film (an action flick, no less - probably a fun movie, but hardly a source for deep, meaningful, and interesting discourse) on a messageboard? I hardly see that as compelling.

I missed this somehow, but...
MOST movie theatres let you wait INSIDE unless its a movie of star wars-ian proportions. (lotr movies, matrix 2, thats prolly it) even then, it depends on your theatre. 30 degrees sounds nice to me, im a new yorker, i like it cold. and i own a jacket. how do you survive at football games? nevermind, im sure you dont go...
by all means, if you cant afford the 10 bucks for a movie ticket, dont go, im not trying to make anyone poor, BUT im also assuming that people only go to the movies if they can afford them. the $1 fee for buying online is worth not worrying about available tickets. If your movie theatre tends towards drunken rowdy crowds...GO TO ANOTHER THEATRE. or move out of boston. Here in NYC different theatres in different neighborhoods draw different types of crowds. Just like you take size of screen and quality of sound and location into consideration when choosing a theatre, take the quality of crowd into consideration too. The worst movie experience I had in the last year was when I went to see an early show of Kill Bill 3-4 weeks after it opened...and some idiot brought their screaming baby. Cant remember the last time I saw a baby or unattended kids at a late night opening night show. Usually the crowd is actually there because they WANT TO SEE THE MOVIE.

What, did someone take away your "Post New Thread" button? You want it done, you can do it yourself, you know...

I knew I wasnt going to see it until Saturday, so I figured I'd request that of the Friday attendees. So sorry for putting you out by making a request.
Next time I'll make demands and torture those who don't comply. Waitaminute.
But hey, the movie was so average that I dont think it will provoke much discussion and i didnt have a lot to say, so its a moot point anyway.

Wait, what was in the credits? Man, usually I stay for credits, but my friends pressured me out this time. *shakes fist*
A quick little gag.
Jeffrey Tambor's character is still by the clockworks where we last saw him, saying "Guys? I'm still waiting.....GUYS?"
It was good for a chuckle, and occurs fairly early through the end credits. I stayed until the ever-lovin end, and that's the only bit.

Was interesting to see that Pete Yorn produced some of the music. Have to find the soundtrack.

I watched Hellboy Firday night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not "Lord of the Rings" enjoyed, but it was Daredevil-level fun.

One thing makes me curious - both stevelabny and Roger Ebert had the same complaint about the movie - the scene with Liz **
flaming the eggs, and then they're all captured by Rasputin
** - Steve, when you watched did they have the scene where Myers **
slowly comes to, and sees Ilsa and Rasputin taking them into custody before he blacks out?
** I thought it was explained well enough, but I could be wrong. **
Hellboy was taken out by the Sammaels long before Liz flamed up, and either the destruction knocked them both out, or the lack of oxygen did after Liz torched the place.
** I just wanted to make sure that scene was in there, because after I saw Ebert comment on it I was looking for the "disconnect", but I didn't see it.
