Anyone using Omega Tech in D&D?

So... anyone?

Seems like you could do a pretty cool Re-hash of Expedition to The Barrier Peaks by mashing up GW and D&D proper...

I think one of the adventures for GW is going to have a crashed space ship and seems very Barrier peakish.

As per the 1E DMG, I will be sending them in at some point, so alpha mutations and omega tech gallor. I may even let them keep some.

What I think is neat, is that while it might unbalance the game for a short period of time, they have a kind of built in self limiter, and no one in D&D will really have the skills needed to "salvage" them... They'd function kind of like mini artifacts.

The DM I guess could play around with the idea of letting the D&D characters do something that works like salvaging- like maybe arcana, or thievery, but the DM would be in full control there.

"Well, you pump a lot of magical energy into the thing, and you THINK it's mostly stabilized... but you're really not sure... It's not like anything you've ever encountered before- so it might stop working at a moment's notice..."

I'm planning on it, for short excursions to a moon that hosts ruined technology and mutating aberration magic. Actually, I was planning to use Gamma World ideas for this long before WotC announced the new edition of GW; this just makes it really easy!
