D&D 5E Anyone using the automatic success DMG variant rules for skills?

I tend to grant more and more automatic successes, the more experienced my players get, considering the following:

1 - With a well built band of adventurer, every skill is usually covered

2 - When they get to +3 to their proficiency bonus, some of the players have an obscene bonus of +8 to +11 to some skills

3 - Past level 6, if pitted against opponents and situations of adequate difficulty, most mundane skill have a limited use or get easily trumped by spells or other magic resources

4 - Some magic items render skill check useless in certain situations
