Anyone visiting GenCon UK?

I was just wondering if anyone was going to GenCon UK in october?

After all the talk that there wouldn't be a european Gencon after last year's in London, me and my Belgian friends were getting really worried. We always had a blast when we came, we travelled five hours to get there and roleplayed for 48 hours straight.

Last year we managed to convince some guy from the US to DM for us, altough he wasn't very eager at first (he claimed all the player's he had mastered that adventure for had left the table crying, naturally, this aroused our interest even more) but we were able to talk him in. Claiming that his evillness was no match for our cunning! It was one of my best games ever, and never in my life have I met someone who could play an evil person so ... evil!

Like I started my thread, are there any people going to GenCon UK, and if so where are you from and did you have earlier good experiences at GenCon UK?

I'm considering going but I've got a baby son since last year. So in some ways the new location is great since I can come with my wife and kid they can go to Butlin's and I can go gaming.

It's just the cost, obviously we don't have as much free finance anymore. I haven't booked it yet but I hope to go.

Last year the ENWorld barroom brawl game, Megadungeon and a CoC game were fun last year. The event organisation was piss poor on the whole and I ended up getting in very few games.

Every previous year I'ld been to (basically every year it had been running except in London) had been great, Manchester was good as it was close by and I help run the schools competition (which unfortunately folded once WotC stopped supporting the UK RPGA, the most STUPID and SHORT SIGHTED decision ever made). All the years at Loughbourgh were brilliant, real shame it had to leave a campus setting. Camper Sands was good but a hell of a long way for me to travel, and Reading was nice.

Hopefully with the holiday camp location, it will have more of the Campus feel of Loughbourgh with delegate games running in their rooms till the early hours of the next morning. The organisers seem to be supporting delegate games better (so perhaps the death of the RPGA in the UK wasn't all bad), so I have a good feeling about this year and really want to be there.

I must find the money.

I'm from Belgium too, and I planned to go this year. However, seeing the cost of entrance and accomodation, I decided to think it over twice... Then me and my girlfriend decided to buy a house... So, no GenCon for me! :p
