Anyone watching Cities of the Undergound on History Channel?

I love the show, but I agree that if they were intent on getting an annoying host they'd have done better to have gotten Peter Woodward. He's at least grown on me.

Same goes for Peter Weller (Syracuse University professor of Buckaroo Banzai and Robocop fame). Took awhile, but he's grown on me. And he played Buckaroo Banzai!

I live in Germany in the Ruhr Metropolitan Area. It's been a major industrial area for about one and a half centuries. Last year I happened on a tour through one of the old steel works. One that tour I learned that since before WW1 a big part of the production had been moved into an underground complex with several miles of tunnels. I even learned that I practically lived above a cave system that was used for shooting and calibrating artillery in secrecy.
I never would have thought that I had a dungeon right beneath my feet all the time.

Neat. Now all you need is a torch and a sword* to gather up huge treasures.

The part I liked about the rome episode was how they were able to build secret temples for the cult of Mistra. They used scavanged materials and were able to build close to heavily travelled areas within the city. That was interesting.

It would be a better show ith a different host.
