I'm working a half day on Monday and get Tuesday off. Which I actually find kind of annoying, since it means I lose two hours of pay on Monday. I lost even more than that on Christmas Eve because nobody warned me we were going to close early. I at least knew ahead of time this time around, so I will go in earlier than I usually am scheduled so I can mitigate it. (I do at least get holiday pay on the actual holiday, though.)
Considering that I'm getting laid off next Friday, losing much-needed pay to holidays and snow closings really hurts. Plus, I have no family or offline friends to do anything with on the holidays, so they end up being really boring days. Not only do I have nothing to do offline, there's nothing to do *online* either since most other people are *also* off celebrating the holidays. Meh.
At least this time around my RP group is planning a get-together Monday night, plus there's a cool project that's gonna get released in one of my other fandom circles.

I had to work yesterday (the 31st) but asked for today off. Was originally going to a friend's house to party a bit but plans fell through. Only day we have off is Christmas Day but then that's fast food for ya! 
I'm self-employed: I work almost all the time. Today I'm catching up with my accounts.
One year I was asked to work on a series of press releases for the Dakar rally: the first one was supposed to be sent to me by 6 a.m. on New Year's day, and had to be translated immediately. I dragged myself home from a party at 1 a.m., was at my computer by 6 a.m., and waited in vain for the work.

Yeah, when I was in retail the only days we had off were Thanksgiving and Christmas. Though I usually ended up having to take the holiday off anyway due to the buses not running... which sucked because I'd have to miss out on the pay. (I just hate holidays in general, TBH. If I need a day off, I'd rather take it on my own terms than be forced to take it off even if it's a lousy time for it.)
Ended up accidentally sleeping through most of the RP session, which is about par for my luck, but at least the fan project was cool. Oh well, this year promises to be even worse than last year anyway; might as well start it off badly, too!
