Anything for a Fighter to gain a pet?

Since Fighters have no shortage of feats, I suggest taking Skill Focus (Handle Animal), so you can take 1 level of Beastmaster, then take the Nature Bond feat (also in Complete Adventurer). Your effective druid level for animal companion purposes will be 7 (1 level of Beastmaster + 3 Beastmaster bonus + 3 Nature Bond bonus), which is enough to gain a tiger.

Wild Cohort is far weaker than that, and you'll have to wait a long time before getting a tiger.

The Book of Familiars might have something for you, although I haven't looked at my copy since I realized I'd bought the 3.0 version in error. Certainly, the WotC approach sounds simplest.

If only there were a way to get the revised version without paying for the whole thing over again...

Lots of DM rulings involved in just 'having a tiger' with handle animal.
Where do you find a trained tiger? How much does it cost to buy? How much to get a cub if you want to raise it yourself and how long is it going to take? Can you domesticate a tiger enough to make it a feasible animal to just take around with you? Heck, will the DM even allow it? He even mentions he doesnt think the DM will just 'let him get one'.

Another way of getting a tiger as an animal companion is to take 3 levels of Druid, and then take the Natural Bond feat from Complete adventurer. (Add three to your Effective Druid level (not to exceed your Character level) for determining your Animal
Companion’s bonuses.)

OK, I was wondering if there was any way you could get a fighter to be able to gain a Tiger as a pet/companion. A feat or something since I know my DM will not let me happen to find one somewhere, and if I did, it would not be as a companion. I just didn't know if there is a feat to give "Animal Companion".

How about just a straight Cohort? Then it could be an awakened Tiger with class levels (Fighter or Rogue might work)
