Apologies and Explanation for Absence

First Post
I really missed writing a blog... And when ENWorld's blog feature disappeared I just lost some of my steam.

Not anymore.

For the last few months I have been writing posts going more in-depth on some of the topics I cover here over at The Good Gaming Blog. Just wanted to hip those who used to read my posts on the old system to some of the work I've been doing over there:

Folklore Friday: Kappas. Today's posts start my Folklore Friday series. In this series I am going to discuss some of the mythological creatures found in D&D and show a bit of their natures that doesn't seem to be covered by their initial depictions. Discussions on fairies, demons, djinni, and obscure little creatures will be par for the course here, along with some information that may help spice up your gaming life.

Lazy DM'ing: Send in the Mooks. One of the more popular parts of my old blog here, Lazy DM'ing will help give you a couple of insights into fixing up your game, which also includes...

Streamlining the Epic Sandbox: Articles that discuss how to make a simple complexity. The basic system of the Epic Sandbox allows you to generate quick and flavorful little bits that help you to expand your game into an easily interactive sandbox experience while not requiring the amount of bookkeeping and headaches that most sandboxes can develop.

Market Generator!: Of course there are also posts discussing my Economy and D&D thread, including one that has a permanent link to the Market Generator spreadsheet. Want a bit of fluctuation in your economy of buying and selling? The Market Generator gives a good stepping stone (and is being revamped to allow for an even smoother series of changes... Stayed tuned for updates!)

In all I hope that the blog can help you expand your horizons and gain some knowledge. If you have any specific suggestions, comments, or concerns you can reach me here or over there.

Slainte,

-Loonook.

The Past Week has been interesting... And brought some cool little articles through my brain:

Folklore Friday: Fossegrim - Ever want to get to know that watery-eyed waterfall-Dryad as something closer to its mythic reality? Well then treat yourself here.

The Desprezivel - Introducing the Insignificant Ones of Prataferro, sterile warriors who deal in death for those who have been Raised in the Soul Auctions.

Of Moogs, Madlibs, and Modules - An open letter to Mike Mearls to please, please, please not screw up the wonderful 5e deliciousness established so far.

Things You Should Place in Your Next Game - For the love of all that is good pure and holy please look into this setup. Add some verisimilitude and awesome ideas to your next game day.

Hope to hear from you all over at the blog...

As Always,

Good Gaming.

New Updates over the last few days... We've been pretty busy ;).

The First Darkness Primeira Escuridao comes into the world screaming... What do you get for the Far Realms beast that has everything?

I look into some of my own personal stupidity regarding worldbuilding... Do not make my mistakes.

And Reforged Iron! Like Iron DM? Well... I got wiped out, but it has encouraged me to take the sweet delicious ingredients of Iron DM and make up full adventures around them. This is the start of it... Enjoy yourself :).

A little Modern Inspiration through the character of Allen Hughes, who fell for a sweet redhead girl with a horrible secret...

As always hope you enjoy, and you can always comment if you don't ;).

A Rough Sketch of the Assistant Hireling: So you want someone to be your party's Arli$$, handling the books, keeping the kingdoms happy, making sure you're covered for carrying weapons in the Free City? Well, look no further than the Personal Assistant. Really this is just a rough sketch of a concept I've been working on expressed in a different way... But please comment as I need suggestions on it! :).

D&D Next: Test The Math Not Your Feelings: Apparently got some people riled up with this post in the last few days. Wanna learn what I think you should do before you run off on something?

Test the math! And I run down a few samples of how to do it.

Folklore Friday continues with the Leanan Sidhe, and some of the interpretations of the creature in literature, film, and TV.

So how're you enjoying it so far? There are a lot of articles for perusal and you can learn more and more on it.

Ever wonder what happens when my blogkeeping slips and I forget to save deleted posts?

Well welcome to the last week! Found out they were deleted so rewriting a week of columns rather than doing the next week :(. However... I have been inspired to write up a new Economy of D&D article. This article actually is more of a statistics post, but definitely provides some interesting information on disease and mortality. Was quite surprised at the results. Check it out...

Oh, and due to the material covered I put a link to Share National, definitely a viable charity for your tax deductions if you so desire to donate in the US. And apparently the Children's Fund link has been spotted by Adsense. So if you want to learn about Children's Fund you can follow the link in the ads!

Everyone wins!

I do apologize for the time I have been away… For the last several months I have been dealing with a debilitating injury to my head, causing troubles with motor function, word choice, and general ability to be useful to the community at large. It really began to hit me shortly after the creation of my last blog post on a new Omegle Questions blog, and then proceeded to get worse and worse over the last several weeks to the point that I have been unable to really type up my thoughts.

Rest assured that I have been gathering notes, through the help of a friend who has proven invaluable in the last few months since my initial injury, and will be looking forward to posting more new Folklore Fridays, work on Modern, Science Fiction, and Fantasy settings, and even some new articles on the Economy of D&D.

Again, I thank you for your patience during this trying time, and hope to get back to being a meaningful contributor to our discussions on this blog and forums around the Net.

As Always,

Good Gaming.

-Loonook.
