Applying multiple metamagic feats

What happens when multiple metamagic feats (other than empower and maximise together) are applied to a single spell?

For example would a twinned sudden maximised fireball cast by a 13th level wizard do 120 points or 60 plus 10d6?

The only feats with any rule stating that the effects are applied individually to the base spell are Empower and Maximize, when used in combination.

A Cold-Substituted, Extended Wall of Fire doesn't deal Cold damage for the normal duration, and Fire damage for the extended duration, because there is no rule stating that the Extend effect doesn't apply to the C-Subbed Wall.

It's argued, though.

There's a camp who feel that the Empower/Maximize rule is not a special case, but rather an illustration of a general principle. They classify all the Metamagic feats into categories of 'modify' or 'add-on'. All 'modify' feats apply to the entire spell, but all 'add-on' feats only apply to the base spell.

Twin Spell, Repeat Spell, Empower Spell, Maximize Spell, Energy Admixture are some of the 'add-on' feats. Silent Spell, Extend Spell, Energy Substitution, Quicken Spell are some of the 'modify' feats.

So by this system, a Repeated, Empowered, Cold-Substituted, Acid-Admixed Fireball would deal 10d6 cold x 1.5 + 10d6 acid (since the Empower doesn't affect the Admixed portion) in the first round, and 10d6 cold in the second round (since neither the Empower nor the Admixture affect the Repeated portion).

Which is all fine... except that there's no support for it in any of the books.
