Has anyone some adventure ideas for an apprentice wizard?
Tests he has to do in order to become an apprentice from a master / to enter a college
Tasks given from his master
what he has to do to master his first spells
adventures in a college
How he first aquires his familiar
miscallenous ideas I don't think of

I used a 1st level wizard, it could also be an apprentice to deliver a chest, locked by magic from his mentor to a fellow mage. This was the start of a great campaign.

The mentor needs some herbs who grow deep in the woods. This herbs must be cut at night, perhaps midnight. The wood is inhabited only by animals. The apprentice can be shocked by noises, etc.

College:
How about a murder in a college. This is a investigative adventure. Magic must not neccesary solve the crime because the murderer is school in the arcane arts, so he knows the limitations of magic. The murderer can be found by pure logical conclusions.

Just my 2 cents

Hmmm.
OK, the master asks for a letter to be delivered to a fellow wizard. Its up to the aprentice to deliver it. Unfortunately Wizards have enemies, and a pair of other 1st level wiz types (Not working together) show up to intercept the letter. Niether of the other guys are operating on official approval, they're just trying to show "incentive." Disguises, sneaking about, and low level battles make this interesting. With inteligence, combat can be completely avoided if the PC wants. Of course, a charmed goblin or two might force the issue (2 hit points).
