First Post
hello to all out there. I'm starting a new game using the pathfinder system for my players. It's going to based in the lands of Ta'Sharra, which the Kalandrian version of the middle-east and arabic style culture, for the most part. I'm lookiong for pathfinder versions of old favorites like the Al Qadim and others if they're out there. I'm also going to using SOME of the Dark Sun material as well. I've been DMing now for well over 30 years but also realize that no one can know everything. Any tips or insight would be appreciated.

Kobold Press has the Midgard setting, which includes a very detailed and developed Arabic style land that might be worth looking at (though that is new material, not old stuff.) There might be sources for converted Al Qadim material, though I don't know of anything specific.

Pasrantium is worth checking out. A Constantinople type fantasy arab, european, asian crossroads city for pathfinder. Paizo has a bunch with Qadira, Katapesh, and their Legacy of Fire adventure path from their Pathfinder chronicles 3.5 days. I think Qadira might have been one their first Pathfinder RPG rules products.

Golarion have an Arabic nation. It's called katapesh. Plus legacy of fire is an ap in this nation.
You have a campaign book For this nation: dark market or something like that.
I don't remember if there is a player companion. You can take both crunch and flavor from this. I think there is another nation with a Q on its name.

Al Quadim is good start, just as Katapesh. You may want to look at actual Arabic history if you want to get some closer feel of the setting. Depending on what you actually want to do you may look at the history of Berber and Tuareg nomad tribes, Umayyad and Abbasid Caliphates, Egyptian Sultanate under Mamluks, or even Ottoman Empire.

There is no better motivator then history!

I have all of Al-Qadim, and love them. I didn't like the Legacy of Fire adventure path, it lacks the romance of Arabian Nights and is endlessly gritty in its anti-gnoll slog.

I recently ordered the Southlands kickstarter from Kobold Press. Very much looking forward to it.
