Aranea FR info?

I'm making an aranea player for a possible pbp game set in the Forgotten Realms and I was wondering if there is any info on the monster race in Faerun.

I remember the Aranea from the Isle of Dread expert set module and have the basic srd info on them, but is there any more info fleshing them out? Any Realms specific info? Any FRCS reference I should be aware of or stuff from a possible ESD?

I might just be blowing smoke here, but I don't think Aranea were a part of the FR until 3e included them in the MM. Before that they were pretty much exclusive to the Known World and the Savage Coast.

I know there's a blurb about them somewhere in the world overview chapter of the FR Campaign setting. I forget which part of the setting they've been placed in. If you can track that down and if they've released a regional book on that part of FR, you might find more info there.

I think they were in a 2e product about Calimshan, in a swamp on the southern coast.

My books are 7,000 kms away but I seem to recall that the entry for Lolth in Demihuman
Deities includes some information on the aranea and perhaps even their FR origin. Empires of the Shining Sands also mentions them in connection with a swamp (IIRC, the information is much the same as that covered in Demihuman Deities).

If they are associated with Lolth/Lloth, are they evil in the Realms? Or is it just an association by appearance and nothing more?

they were said to have worshipped the deceased demon lord Zanassu.

I remember them in the 2e Empires of the Shining Sea (where Imruphel, Laman Stahros and BOZ make note of, above).
