D&D 3E/3.5 Aranea War Shaper (3.5)

First Post
So, I've got an aranea NPC that is fighter 1/war shaper 4. I changed her spellcasting abilities from racial levels to cleric instead of sorceror, since we needed a healer. I am wondering what anyone thinks of her path after War Shaper? Should I continue the warrior path with her, or should I go cleric to get her better at healing?

She has used her healing abilities well, considering their low level in our game, but she has proven very capable as a warrior. Not sure which path to follow here.

Cleric has more over all options being a caster. The use of Divine Metamagic, extend, and persist spell can make your favorite personal buffs last all day. The warshaper could have an offensive edge if you use it to give yourself natural attacks on all your limbs.

Persistent spell is 'a little' broken, but clerics are excelent combatants. And although easily considered broken in their own right, druids using wildshape make excellent combatants, and if you wish, are very capable healers.

Well, she can already use Wands of CLW, so healing is covered, right? It's not as if she'd ever get access to Heal with her levels in Monstrous Humanoid, Fighter, and Warshaper. So yes, you can go on leveling her as a Cleric, but what's the point? She's missing out on the Cleric's super-strong buffs for several more levels, gaining exciting (NOT!) 2nd and 3rd level Cleric spells instead.

I'd get that Barbarian level for pouncing ASAP, then go Warblade, or maybe Swordsage since her Wis is probably high. Another option would be divine/melee PrCs, Ordained Champion comes to mind as an excellent one.

Now that I think about it, a single level of Cleric would actually be nice for Domain access and Turn Undead, so you can take a nice Devotion or Divine feat.
