Arcana Unearthed at GenCon

Well technically you weren't given a mini -- you were given a coupon to take to the Iron Wind (?) booth to exchange for a mini. I think I was handed some other stuff too so maybe yours got lost in the shuffle.
I didn't get a coupon either. I showed the clerk at the cash register that I wanted AU. I handed him $30 and that was that. I got nothing else.

Tell me about it. I picked up the book, and someone asked me if I had gotten my mini.

"What mini?" I asked.
"They should have given you a coupon to trade in at the Iron Wind booth."

(Digging though backpack to reveal a small green slip of paper.)

"Oh... okay..."

::chuckle::

I don't think you count Clark :). You were, IIRC from the ENnies ceremony, prosecuting someone at the time, which was why you couldn't make it.

That someone was none other then ..*drumroll*
me ;)
You found it and I told you where to go (what booth I mean) to go get it.
I got the mini and a pre-release of the mini-set-nice mini's from Iron Wind metals!

While I didn't get a chance to snag the limited edition mini, I did get the promotional set.

There are three things wrong with these figures.

The first is the detail is a little muted. The details aren't as sharp as I'd like them to be.

The second is the bases. They look pretty stable but are very small. I'll probably wind up putting them onto other bases after painting.

The third was the massive amount of flak. For those who don't paint miniatures, flak is small chunks of metal on the figures.

These are not huge issues. The flak came off easily and the details, while not as crisp and clean as a Warlord figure fresh off the line, were good and weren't obscured by primer.

There were no mold lines though. The figures themselves had nice detail in the movement and flow. This is especially true of the giant with the two handed sword. A little extra feeling is in this bad boy due to the glued on hands.

I'm painting the two giants now. Royal purple and white for the female and good old steel and silver for the male.

I thought it was, but wasn't certain, so I edited it out of my post. I have misremembered who said what at GenCon once already (I told the necro folks that it was Peter who gave them the mad props, when it was Ryan...)

Plague of Dreams

Did anyone get a copy of this and, if so, how did it look?

I hate knowing that books I've worked on exist and I haven't seen a copy yet. But I am happy to hear that it made it to the show.

*wonders why a person called psion would have such a lousy memory*

Hmm... Miniatures... The true alchemical way of turning lead into gold...

Anyone have any pictures of them?

FDP Mike sent me home with a copy. I didn't get a chance to pick apart the adventure yet, but the layout looks very nice.
