Arcane Healer?

Vampiric Touch, Healing Touch (MoF), Subdual Substitution (T&B).

What do you think of how these would interact. A good basis for arcane healing? Will they basically let you swap real damage for subdual damage which of course heals much quicker.

Tangential, I know, but there's an Arcane Healer NPC class in the Atlas/Penumbra book Occult Lore.

"Hold still while I tie this onion to your leg. Now balance this rock on your head, and don't move for the next few hours..."

In either The Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting or Magic of Faerun (I think the former), there is a 9th level spell called the Symbul's Synostodweomer, that lets an arcane spellcaster sacrifice a spell for healing energy (on the spellcaster only), at a rate of 2 hp/spell level.

Nope, because Subdual Substitution can't be used with negative or positive energy, only the standard 5 energy types.

D'oh, you are quite correct. I swear my brain ignores stuff it doesn't want to see some times yeesh.

Or you could bring back the 2E "Blood Bridge" line of spells. Those plus vampiric stuff can give you a little healing ability, especially if you find some other way of regenerating HP.
