Well, all the rules under Scrolls in the Magic Items chapter refer to activating the spell, and note that it is 'basically like' casting.

So someone with a scroll doesn't have the ability to cast the spell, he has the ability to activate the spell from the scroll...

Use a Scroll: If you are casting a spell from a scroll, you have to decipher it first. Normally, to cast a spell from a scroll, you must have the scroll’s spell on your class spell list. Use Magic Device allows you to use a scroll as if you had a particular spell on your class spell list. The DC is equal to 20 + the caster level of the spell you are trying to cast from the scroll. In addition, casting a spell from a scroll requires a minimum score (10 + spell level) in the appropriate ability. If you don’t have a sufficient score in that ability, you must emulate the ability score with a separate Use Magic Device check (see above).

I was just pointing to the repeated mentioning of casting spells from scrolls. :)

Yup - but primary source for magic items is the DMG, and the description of scrolls themselves doesn't describe it as casting.

So we'll just use staffs instead, where cast and activate are used pretty much interchangably:
Activation: Staffs use the spell trigger activation method, so casting a spell from a staff is usually a standard action that doesn’t provoke attacks of opportunity. (If the spell being cast, however, has a longer casting time than 1 standard action, it takes that long to cast the spell from a staff.) To activate a staff, a character must hold it forth in at least one hand (or whatever passes for a hand, for nonhumanoid creatures).

Hmm, seems people really hate the Precocious Apprentice way of qualifying for theurge PrCs - surprising, considering that it's hardly the most broken way to use theurges.

As for the OP: Hyp, didn't you have a reading of ArcH that suggested that it would advance wild shape potential even if the druid didn't actually have wild shape yet?

A Drd4/ArcHie1 can Wildshape; that's not the OP's problem. He wants Wildshape by character level 6 so he can qualify for Natural Spell at 6th level. The problem is that he also wants to qualify for ArcHie by character level 6.

RM's Druid/Duskblade/Sanctum Spell build should do it, even without the Spiritfolk aspect.
