Arcane Strike and Rage

First Post
Simple (or not so simple ;)) question:

Can you use Arcane Strike while in Rage?

Or in other words, what kind of concentration does it require to use Arcane Strike?

Mostly asking for opinions, since the rules only provide very rough guidelines here... so, what do you think?

Don't see why you can't use Arcane Strike while raging. It doesn't say that it requires any more concentration than, say, sneak attacking.

Arcane Strike said:
When you activate this feat (a free action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity) you can channel arcane energy into a melee weapon, your unarmed strike, or natural weapon.

Rage said:
While raging, a barbarian cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except for Balance, Escape Artist, Intimidate, and Ride), the Concentration skill, or any abilities that require patience or concentration, nor can he cast spells or activate magic items that require a command word, a spell trigger (such as a wand), or spell completion (such as a scroll) to function. He can use any feat he has except Combat Expertise, item creation feats, and metamagic feats.

(But obviously, this only really applies to Core feats.)

The point being that sneak attacking is an activity that can be conceptualised as requiring patience or concentration, but the consensus is that you can still use it while raging. Similarly for this feat.

Yep, it certainly has some similarities there...

BTW, the last post was not meant as a reply to your post. I posted it before I saw yours. :D

I'd say you can't, sorry

Unfortunately, if you can't cast spells while Raging, you'd no longer qualify for the Arcane Strike feat, 'cos casting 4th-level spells is one of the prerequisites. So, sorry, not in my book (and I'm usually dead generous about these things).
