Played my first session with the Arcane Trickster (haven't chosen all my feats !)

The first major combat was an ambush we suffered... and I have to say that in no moment did I even consider drawing my short sword. Way too many spells to cast :) Never managed a sneak though... there was a lot of movement and fleeing.

Having to cast Impr.Invis./Greater Invisb. first is a major delayer... don't like having to rely on that to get my sneaks.

Impr Feinting seems to require way to much investment in skill points and isn't worth much against non-humanoids. Plus the best spells aren't melee touch anyway. Feinting only helps melee attacks...

Consider, instead of opening with Improved Invisibility, opening with Glitterdust. It's got the disadvantage that it only affects a small area, and creatures within that area get a save; that's balanced by the fact that those who fail their save are dramatically crippled in the battle. With Greater Invisibility up, you'll just persuade them to hack the fighter instead; Glitterdusted, they'll flail around helpless.

Plus it's two levels lower :).
