Over a dozen years have passed since His Majesty Osric IV declared to the noble families of Milandir that the Infernal Horde long sealed behind the God's Wall was a threat to all of Mankind. "Long have the people of the Hinterlands looked to the Coryani to safeguard them," he declared with the ever-present Sabinus at is side, "but the Empire has grown weak and corrupt, rent asunder from within and can mount no more than a token force to meet its obligations.
"The day has come for us, the noblest of the nations upon Onara, to raise our banners and defend all of humanity from the depredations of the foulest creatures to crawl from the depths of the Hells. Over a thousand years ago, the noble First Emperor gave his final breath to trap them behind the impenetrable Godswall – a barrier now lost due to the sacrilegious practices of the Coryani.
"A new wall must be built, one of steel, courage and faith – faith that the Gods watch over us and will aid us in this noblest of causes, in our generation's greatest challenge and greatest honor – the final defeat of the Infernal Threat and the elevation of the Milandesian people as most worthy of their blessings.

Over a dozen years have passed since that day. A dozen years of the most brutal and unforgiving battles in the history of the Known World. How many have lost their lives, their minds, and their honor on the muddy flats at the foot of the God's Wall may never be known. Censure, once the jewel of the Hinterlands, lies a battered and bruised city, but unbowed and unbroken – its walls and people having defied the lustful grasp of the Lordship of Iron.
How much longer can mortals withstand the onslaught of Hell?
The world has changed in those dozen years and the end of the Crusade is nowhere in sight. The Mother Church has fractured again – this time the splinter Church appearing to have a greater appeal – one steeped in piety, absolute obeisance and the tenant of martyrdom granting direct ascension to the Paradise of the Gods. Former enemies have become allies as magi from the Sanctorum reluctantly fight shoulder to shoulder with Yamndrakes, just as noble Knightly Orders battle alongside Sarishans and Nerothians from Canceri. It is a new world where the Swords of Nier and the brutal Nol Dappan dwarves may be the only hope in turning the tide in this endless war.
Over a dozen years have passed since the final battle in the Coryani Civil War took place – a battle that demanded the blood of the greatest heroes of the Known Lands and yet it seems that Larissa's Tapestry cries out for new and greater heroes to rise up and lead this new Crusade of Light to its final victory. Again, the Her loom calls for great heroes; those whose sacrifice and courage are the only hope for the people of Arcanis.
It would appear that the world has not changed after all.

ARCANIS: CRUSADE is a Campaign Sourcebook that details the intervening twelve-year period between the end of the first Living Arcanis Story-Arc and the second which premiers at Origins 2010. This sourcebook will also make available new feats, spells, and Prestige Classes as well as a new nationality – the Ymandrakes.
As the new Shattered Empires RPG will not debut until the Summer of 2010, ARCANIS: CRUSADE will act as a bridge between the first and second arcs and will continue to use the OGL engine used in the first Living Arcanis story-arc.
To chronicle the final year of the Crusade, the writers of the Invisible Kings domains will devote themselves to writing new ARCANIS: CRUSADE adventures to be released between Gen Con 2009 to May 2010.
We can't do this without your support. In order to devote the resources such a large project requires, we have elected to use a new financing model with Fundable.
Fundable will allow you to pre-order the ARCANIS: CRUSADE Sourcebook (which will be available on or after Origins 2009) and give you access to the ARCANIS: CRUSADE adventures available on PDF. Should the project fail to meet the listed goal in 26 days, the project will be cancelled and all monies will be automatically returned to you.
However, even if the goal is reached, we urge you to purchase through the Fundable project as we will be printing based upon orders and very few additional units will be available for sale upon release (probably limited to the normal printing overage). If this project proves a success, we also have, in hand, the manuscript for the Censure: Jewel of the Hinterlands Sourcebook (written by Scott Charlton) and an epic eight part Hinterlands adventure against the Hyena-Queen (written by Andrew Garbade). These projects will also be made available through a Fundables account if there is enough interest and support in the current one.
